Mashhad, August 7, 2025 — Rahim Jalili, President of the Iran International Exhibitions Association, visited the Mashhad Plast Specialized Exhibition, touring various sections of the event and meeting with national and provincial authorities and managers.
The visit was also attended by Mousa-al-Reza Hajibeglou, President of the Supreme Council of Provinces; Nasser Toukalianfar, CEO of the Mashhad International Exhibition; members of Mashhad’s Islamic City Council; and senior provincial officials. During the tour, discussions were held with exhibitors and stakeholders in the plastics and related industries, focusing on the capacities of the exhibition sector, the expansion of national and regional cooperation, and the important role of exhibitions in economic growth and linking industry with the market.
Following the visit, a specialized meeting was convened with the President of the Supreme Council of Provinces, the President of the Iran International Exhibitions Association, the CEO of Mashhad International Exhibition, and provincial authorities. The meeting’s agenda centered on expanding specialized, export-oriented exhibitions.
In this session, Rahim Jalili emphasized the special role of specialized exhibitions within the country’s industrial development chain, noting that cooperation between urban management, decision-making bodies, and exhibition centers is a key factor in upgrading both the quantity and quality of events at the national and international levels. He also revealed that the Association is considering a proposal under which all exhibition centers in Iran would jointly hold an event abroad, showcasing Iranian manufacturers and industrialists in a selected target country—should the initiative be approved by the board.
According to the meeting’s resolutions, Mashhad International Exhibition will host, within the current year, a dedicated exhibition for domestically manufactured products with export potential—providing an opportunity to showcase national capabilities and develop foreign markets. In line with strengthening international cooperation, it was further agreed to organize a reciprocal, barter-based exhibition exchange between Mashhad and Tajikistan: one exhibition for Iranian producers in Tajikistan, and another for Tajik producers in Mashhad.
These expert visits and strategic meetings are expected to play a vital role in reinforcing economic diplomacy, expanding exhibition industry cooperation, and leveraging regional and trans-regional trade capacities.
